“We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something seperate from us. So when we say we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves.”

-Andy Goldsworthy

What We Offer….

Branching Out delivers a range of high-quality Forest School and Social Forestry services. Whether it be natural crafts, tool use, green wood-work, campfire skills, outdoor cooking, or simply free-play and just ‘being’ in the woods that you are seeking, Branching Out will deliver unique and special moments that create life-long memories, life-lessons and life-skills. All sessions are consciously and carefully planned, tailored to the individual needs and wants of specific groups, and directed by the season to ensure maximum outcomes for all those who come to our sessions.

In our Woodland… We have a beautiful 3.5-acre semi-ancient mixed woodland that we welcome people into. The woodland is on the border of England and Wales, near the village of Bucknell, South Shropshire. It is an established Forest School and Social Forestry site with an array of areas and facilities in-situ. (Please go to ‘Our Woodland’ to find out more.) Alternateively, we are happy to travel to nearby locations to deliver our services as requested by customers. Please just get in touch to discuss this option.

Forest School

We invite you to join our Forest School community where our trained Forest School Leaders and Assistants assist children in their holistic development through deepening an array of personal and social skills, while developing new practical skills, all in the placement of a natural world.

Social Forestry

Social Forestry combines a sustainable management of woodlands with the wellbeing of individuals within our woodland community: We invite adults and young people of all ages and abilities to join us in such sessions, and reap the benefits of being part of the Social Forestry movement.

Outdoor Learning

Outdoor Learning covers a large array of subjects, and environmental education is a hot topic at Branching Out. We embrace a ‘whole picture’ learning perspective, encour-aging a deeper understanding of the inter-connectedness of the natural world with hands-on learning and experiences.
